Frankfurt Main Airport, located in the city of Frankfurt, is the biggest airport in Germany. Originally named Rhine-Main Airport in 1936, it was later changed to Frankfurt Airport. With an annual passenger traffic of 61 million, FRA is one of the busiest airports in Europe. More than 300 destinations are served from the airport with 80+ airlines. It is managed and operated by Fraport AG and is a major hub for Lufthansa and its subsidiaries, AeroLogic, and Condor Airlines.
FRA has two terminal buildings with a total of 111 gates and 4 runways. A third terminal is underway and will be inaugurated in April 2026. The airport offers numerous facilities, including leisure activities, waiting areas, shopping and dining outlets, lounges, and ATMs. Frankfurt Airport also has several future plans to develop and expand its terminals to create a faster and more accommodating traveler experience.
