It is mandatory for minors between 5 and 11 years of age, while 12-15 year olds can choose to opt out of this service. Does Qatar Airways Allow Unaccompanied Minors?

Qatar Airways allows children aged 5 to 15 years to travel unaccompanied. It offers the UM/UMNR service and the Young Solo Traveler service to provide assistance at the airport, as well as on the aircraft.

• It is necessary to include the mandatory services for minors between 5 and 11 years traveling alone during booking.
• The Qatar Airways UMNR form should be filled out to be eligible for traveling alone. 

Qatar Airways Services for Minors Traveling Alone

The airways offers mandatory as well as optional services for unaccompanied minors. The UMNR, YP, and companion services can be availed prior to arrival.

• Fill the Young Solo Traveler(YST) form 24 hours before the flight to avail these services.

1. UMNR– This service is accessible to minors between 5 and 11 years of age. It is mandatory to avail this service for children traveling without any adult of at least 16 years of age.
   
2. Meet and Assist Services– Young Passengers, aged between 12 and 15 years, can request this service.
   
3. Companion Service-Unaccompanied minors at Qatar Airways can avail this service and be accompanied by a representative throughout the journey. Contact the customer care 72 hours prior to flight departure to request a companion.

Note: For eligibility, the child should have a ticket number starting with ‘157’.

To book a flight with Qatar Airways for an unaccompanied minor, contact the customer service via call or chat to submit the request.

• Provide the detailed information and documents of the child traveling alone. Alongside, designate the person who will be dropping off and picking up the child.
• Complete the booking and pay the adult fare for the minor.
• Fill out the Qatar Airways UMNR form 24 hours before the flight.

Qatar Airways Unaccompanied Minors Award Ticket

Privilege Club members can book award flights for minors 5-15 years of age, using the accumulated Avios points.

• The one-way fare for an Award flight is 3000 Avios.

• Submit the request along with all the required details. 
• Request the YST service or the Meet and Assist service, depending on the age, and lastly fill out the Young Solo Traveler Form.

Note: Regardless of age, all unaccompanied minors between 5 and 15 years will have an Adult ticket fare.
