Frontier Airlines Terminal at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX)

Frontier Airlines mainly uses Terminal 1 at the Los Angeles International Terminal. This terminal handles all arrivals. But the majority of departures happen through Terminal B, so it buses passengers to the other terminal (Tom Bradley International West Gates). Check-in and security check locations are within the permanent terminal, along with other facilities. It includes shopping, dining outlets, restrooms, hotels, and much more. The boarding at Frontier Airlines LAX Terminal begins 45 minutes before and closes 20 minutes prior to departure. 

What terminal is Frontier Airlines at LAX?

Frontier Airlines utilizes both LAX Terminal 1 and Terminal B for its operations. It consists of two levels and one concourse at the main terminal. The Tom Bradley Terminal only supports boarding and does not handle any other functions.

• Upper Level: The departure level has all Frontier ticketing counters and security checkpoints, along with self-service booths. 

• Lower Level: Arrival level provides baggage claim areas, Frontier lost and found office, and also access to the LAX Ground transportation. 

• Concourse: Flights having gate numbers 9, 11 to 18b, depart from here.

Arrival of Frontier LAX flight 

All Frontier flights arrive at Terminal 1 of Los Angeles International Airport. Arriving passengers will complete their procedure at this terminal only. 

• After disembarking the plane, move to the baggage claim area on the lower level. 
• Collect luggage and access the LAX lost and found office, if there is any issue.
• They can use the ground transportation for easier traveling.  

Frontier departure terminal LAX

Departure of Frontier Airlines takes place through Terminal 1 and Terminal B at LAX Airport. It depends on the gate number assigned to their flights. 

Terminal 1: 9, 11A, 11B, 12A, 12B, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17A, 17B, 18A, and 18B. 

Terminal B: 201A, 201B, 202 to 208, 209A, 209B, 210A, 210B, 221, 225

If Frontier uses Terminal 1 for departures, passengers complete the entire procedure at this terminal. When using LAX Terminal B, a slight difference will be there. 

• Complete the check-in for Frontier at the Terminal 1 counters or self-service kiosks.
• The Frontier ticketing counters open 2 hours prior and close 60 minutes before departure. 
• After check-in, proceed through the security checkpoint in Terminal 1.
• Follow signs to the shuttle bus that connects to Terminal B, where the flight will depart.
• Reach the boarding area at least 45 minutes before, as gates close 20 minutes before the planned takeoff.

NOTE: The shuttle ride can take time, and it’s crucial to allow for this extra travel time. 

Frontier Airlines usually handles all its operations through Terminal 1 at Los Angeles Airport. Hence, it is considered the main terminal, while some departures are also made at Terminal B through the west gates. Even when it is using the other location for departing flights, the process is completed at the main place on the upper level. Additionally, the gate numbers must be checked in advance to avoid last-minute confusion.
