Alaska Airlines currently flies through Terminal 8 at John F. Kennedy International Airport. They have officially moved their operations from Terminal 7 in October 2025.  It offers both domestic and international routes via this location. This Alaska Airlines JFK terminal has four levels and one tunnel for arrivals and departures. First Class guests departing from Terminal 8 have access to the Admirals Club. The flights operate through gates 32 and 33, while alternate gates include 31-35, 37, 39, 41, 43, 45-47. The working hours of ticketing counters are 4:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. every day. 

What Terminal is Alaska Airlines at JFK Airport?

Alaska Airlines has permanently shifted its operations to JFK Terminal 8. Now, all flights arrive and depart through this terminal, using the four levels and one tunnel. 

• Tunnel: This provides a passage for Alaska Airlines international arrivals. So that passengers can move to level 1 to complete the process. 
• Level 1: It handles all arrival processes, including the baggage claim and customs process for both domestic and international flights. 
• Level 2: This level has the AirTrain facilities connecting other terminals. 
• Level 3: This is the departure level with Alaska Airlines ticketing counters, TSA security checkpoints, and boarding gates. 
• Level 4: Departing flyers can access the Admirals Club by American Airlines at this level. 

NOTE: Level 3 also features the JFK Red Parking lot, specifically for Terminal 8 departing flyers with both long-term and short-term usage options.

The JFK Airport Terminal provides all new locations and directions to Alaska Airlines areas. However, it also shows the Alaska Lounge at Terminal 7, which is not in operation after October 2025. 

Alaska Airlines Arrivals at JFK Airport

Level 1 provides all facilities for Alaska Airlines arrivals at the Alaska terminal at JFK Airport. While flights arriving from outside the United States will arrive in the tunnel and flyers will have to move to level 1. 

• Domestic passengers arriving at level 1 can move directly to the available 9 baggage claim areas after security. 
• Foreign people must take the connecting tunnel and reach level 1. 
• Complete the Customs process through the CBP office near the COVID-19 testing station.
• Collect bags and exit the airport using JFK ground transportation. 

JFK Airport Alaska Airlines Departures

Level 3 of Terminal 8 manages departures of Alaska Airlines at JFK Airport. Zone 3 confides the presence of ticketing counters with specific working hours and security checkpoints.

• Fulfill all check-in requirements, either through ticketing counters between 4:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. or nearby self-service kiosks. For a faster process, they can check in from their phones or tablets between 1 to 24 hours before their flight.
• Move to the security checkpoints with the TSA PreCheck facility. The current wait time for the general lane is 25 minutes, and 0 minutes for priority lanes. 
• Head to the boarding gates that appear beyond an underground tunnel. 
• The boarding begins 30 to 40 minutes before the scheduled departure. 

NOTE: The ticket counter staff will accept checked baggage only during counter hours and not more than 4 hours before departure.
