• Level 1: This is the arrival level that has different baggage claim areas for domestic and international flights. Etihad uses the international carousels, along with the customs and border protection office, on the same level.

• Level 2: It has gate numbers B42 to B55. 
• Level 3: This level features an AirTrain service, retail shops, and gates A1 to A9. 
• Level 4: This is the departure level with Etihad ticketing counters, security checkpoints, a hall for departing passengers, and the Chase Sapphire Lounge. 

NOTE: The JFK Parking facilities are accessible on level 3 of Terminal 4.

Arrivals at Etihad JFK Terminal

All Etihad arrivals happen on Level 1 of Terminal 4 at JFK Airport. As it only offers international destinations, all passengers are required to follow the entire procedure:

• Disembark the plane and follow the signs to level 1. 
• The Customs and Border Protection handles all international arrivals through the verification of their passports and other documents.
• Collect the baggage from the international baggage claim belts. The airport assigns the carousels on the same day of arrival. 
• Exit the airport using JFK ground transportation, accessible from outside of this level. 

Etihad Departures at JFK Airport

Etihad Airways flights depart from Terminal 4 at JFK Airport, and passengers will go through concourses A or B after security. Specifically, the gates are at the end of Terminal 4, after passing through and turning left. 

• Complete check-in through Etihad counters on level 4. It opens 4 hours before takeoff, while closing times are different for Economy and first class flyers, 60 minutes and 45 minutes, respectively.
• Proceed to the security checkpoints and pass through TSA checking. 
• Gather in the departure hall for boarding. The majority of the Etihad flights depart from concourse A using gates A2-A12, A14-A17, A19, and A21.
