Sun Country Airlines uses both Terminal 1 and Terminal B for its operations. Terminal 1 has the check-in counters and security checkpoints of the airline. While Terminal B (Tom Bardley International Terminal) contains boarding gates. The main terminal handles the arrivals, and Terminal B conducts departures. Shuttles connect the Sun Country terminals at LAX. It buses the passengers after obtaining their boarding passes and depositing bags. The permanent terminal offers several amenities, and the airline uses the other terminals’ west gates only for boarding flights. 

What terminal is Sun Country at LAX Airport?

Sun Country Airlines operates through the LAX Terminal 1 and Terminal B. However, People consider Terminal 1 the main terminal because it provides all facilities. It features three levels, offering arrivals, ticketing services, and departures (not used by Sun Country). 

• Level 1: The arrival level has four baggage claim carousels and provides access to the LAX ground transportation.
• Level 2: This level offers Sun Country ticketing counters and security checkpoints with TSA and CLEAR amenities. 
• Level 3: It has boarding gates that are certainly not used by Sun Country. The departure level also contains multiple food and shopping outlets. 

NOTE: The current security checkpoint wait time is about 4 minutes. It can change as per the crowd, so check before planning arrival.

Sun Country Arrivals at Los Angeles Airport

Level 1 supports the arrivals of Sun Country Airlines at Los Angeles International Airport. Terminal 1 doesn’t have a customs office within, as it doesn’t offer international routes. 

• Passengers land and move to the baggage claim areas at Level 1 of Terminal 1. 
• There are four baggage carousels. The staff will announce which belt Sun Country will use that day.
• Exit from Door L1 to L18 and access the ground transportation facility. 

Departures Through Sun Country LAX Terminal

Sun Country uses both Terminal 1 and Terminal B for departures through LAX Airport. Level 2 of Terminal 1 has check-in and security check facilities, while Terminal B hosts the west boarding gates. 

Sun Country Airlines Boarding Gates: 201A, 201B, 202 to 208, 209A, 209B, 210A, 210B, 221, 225. 

• Level 2, Terminal 1 handles the ticketing and security check process, as Sun Country has a presence here.
• Complete the process and move to Terminal transfer shuttles to gates 100 to 235 on the north side of the counters, taking elevators. 
• Reach Terminal B and head to the departure hall on level 4. 
• Sun Country Airlines boarding starts 45 minutes before the scheduled departure. Hence, everyone must be there at the gates at least 30 minutes early.

Sun Country primarily uses Terminal 1 at Los Angeles International Airport. But Terminal B also plays an important role in conducting departures through the west gates. Flyers can access the other amenities at the main terminal, such as ticketing counters, dining areas, restrooms, and much more.
